Activity and planning for the 50th anniversary is accelerating as fast as an LMP1 coming out of Tertre Rouge onto the Mulsanne Straight. Many of us are already sporting our 50th anniversary gear, available on the website at http://pcasar.com/marketplatz/ This event will be worth remembering.
The venue, “The Last Territory” at the Hilton El Conquistador will be perfect for displaying the cars, viewing records of past fun and games and enjoying others with like minds for appreciation of the Porsche marque. This is a great opportunity for those who don’t normally attend our events to meet new friends and make contact with club leaders. Find out who can get you started with driving events, concours or touring.
Besides the displays, activities are in progress for an anecdotal video of past club events. This should be great as we hear stories of our predecessors and maybe some of their adventures and misadventures.
We are still seeking prior event publications, paraphernalia or any other record of the people involved or fun events. Please contact Axel Olsen at firstname.lastname@example.org with any materials you have or even better, stories you want to be certain are shared. Porsche collectors: If any of you have a Porsche related collection that you would like to show off, we would be thrilled to find some appropriate space for it at the anniversary celebration. This chapter is one of the most successful PCA chapters and we would really like to capture the heart and soul behind those experiences.
We are seeking volunteers to help with setup, registration and tear-down as well as some pre-event work on displays and other materials. Keep an eye out for a posting in SignUpGenius.
Don’t miss the September 16th Poker Rally taking place on the weekend before the big celebration and dinner. These are always great fun and it’s the perfect chance to enjoy our cars and the people who appreciate them so much. Also don’t forget the modified scramble “Golden Tee Golf Outing” set for Friday, September 22 at Omni Tucson National, where the pros play.
From the President
Well it’s here the official start of summer with the Memorial Day holiday marking that tradition. We had a fun and very successful winter and spring season that culminated with Cinco de Mayo, celebrated at the Casino del Sol. Those of you that participated in any or all of our activities enjoyed a fun filled variety of activities.
The planning and execution of all these events – running the gamut from driving events to Charity-focused silent auctions and Concours d’Elegance competitions – are the result of dedicated club members pitching in and working together.
We are truly an example of a highly successful organization – a direct result of our volunteer workforce. I say workforce because that is exactly what we are, a group of volunteers working together to achieve a common goal. We have no solution other than through volunteer efforts.
We have excellent leadership and participation by our members. That said, more often that not, we are relying on the same volunteers at each event. In addition we have new members that will participate in membership meeting or some other regular event and are never seen again.
Why is this? I want to hear from you. We, the current board and committee chairs, are committed to the continued success of the club – so let us know.
In 2017 we have the following vacancies for 2018 – we need volunteers for the following positions: Contact me – or any board member –now if you have an interest in learning more about these opportunities.

We are celebrating our 50th anniversary – let’s get together. Build on this foundation and help lead club to thrive in the 21st Century!
I know we all have a great time enjoying the camaraderie, showing our cars, driving our cars and most of all having shared experiences.
We have a fabulous opportunity in front of us. Our current leadership wants to pass along the knowledge gained through the years to a new set of team leaders. Imagine being part of a crew that puts on a successful event. It is challenging, it requires attention to the process, it is rewarding, and most of all at the end of the day
This is a car club let’s have some fun!
