Our next driver's education event will be February 20-21, 2010 at Arroyo Seco Raceway. This is a very fun track and we always have a great time. We will run counter-clockwise one day and clockwise the other. No timing will be done. Instructors will be available and happy to help out. The track is a short 20 minute drive from Deming, New Mexico, east on 1-10 to the Akela Flats exit. You can see the track on the right just before the exit.
Registration: Register by using the online registration link on our "Home Page".
Cost: The cost for both days is $200 on or before February 17, 2010 and $240 thereafter.
The cost for one day (either Saturday or Sunday) is $120 on or before February 17, 2010 and $140 thereafter.
We will be driving clockwise on Saturday and counter-clockwise on Sunday. This provides better
continuity for our classroom sessions as we refer to the numbered turns in the clockwise direction
both days.

adaquate water to drink. There will be a warm-up dinner on Friday night for those coming to Deming early. We will meet
at 7:00pm at Adobe Deli, 3970 Lewis Flats Rd, (575) 546-0361 That's a few miles west of the Arroyo Seco track off of the old State

evening. The traditional Saturday night dinner will again be at Si Senior in downtown Deming. We will take a headcount
at the track on Saturday in order to reserve seats for all. You don't want to miss this one!
Tech:
All cars MUST be pre-teched for this event.
Print tech sheet and take to qualified mechanic
who will put the car on a hoist and check important suspension components, brakes & safety
items so that our tech procedure at the track is minimized (streamlined).
Helmets:
PCA rules require helmets meeting either the current or previous Snell Certification. Snell 2000 helmets
(SA or M) may still be used until the SA 2010 helmets become available later this fall (November), otherwise
2005 or the new 2010 (either SA or M) will be required. We usually have a limited number of helmets available
for rental at the events.
Advanced Drivers & Instructors:
A 2lb fire extinguisher mounted to a steel bracket within reach of the driver is
required. An ABC extinguisher, available at Lowes or Home Depot, will
suffice. However, please realize that these chemicals are corrosive if you use
the extinguisher. Halon & Cleanguard extinguisher chemicals are non-corrosive.
