Saturday, May 15th. was a wonderful morning to attack the infamous buffelgrass along the portion of Orange Grove Road massaged by SAR/PCA. Fueled by Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee, nine members chiseled out the roots of the insidious and flammable grass. They took turns bayoneting the roots with six foot long digging bars, stooping to pull the remains, holding the large garbage bags and advising each other on how to do it better. The work was finished in an hour and a half with no self-inflicted wounds.
Left to Right: Alice Lenzini, Rink Reinking, Marty Lenzini, Jerry Cloutier, Jim Kendler, Whitney Cole, Mark Fuller, & Hal Tretbar, photographer. Dave Long came later.

Whitey Cole wonders about how many SAR members it takes for one clump of buffelgrass.
